A parcel for me?

You may remember I'm part of the Secret Post Club scheme. I love it. The scheme has been on a bit of hiatus recently as poor Heather who set it up and got inundated with people joining and what seemed a small idea in principle has suddenly grown. We now use Elfster to help cut down the time Heather needs to spend organising it all.

Count those butterflies

Ok so this scheme has already started so you'll have to be quick if you want to join in. The Big Butterfly Count is underway as it started on the 24th July and finishes on the 1st August.

Three songs

I've mentioned it a few times on my blog before that I have quite a varied music taste. Growing up my parents listened to The Beatles, Fleetwood Mac and The Beach Boys to name a few (actually this is only my Dad's choice of music, my Mum's was just Cliff Richard really and that's just embarrassing).

A shuffle play through my iTunes or on my iPod and the variety just shines through, I think it's as random as my life is to be honest. Spurs boy also has a wide variety of music in his collection so between us it's a pretty weird and wonderful collection.

We love a bad guy right?

We all love a bad guy right?

Ok maybe not ALL of us do but there is something about a bad guy that is strangely attractive. Maybe it's because everyone warns you away from him that makes you want him more. It's so unfair.

My Guide to Sale Shopping

It's sale time and this is the time you'll either love or hate. Spurs boy doesn't like sale time at all, which surprises me, as everything is cheaper! :-P

Sarah Loves... Grace and Firefly

As you may have noticed I have a new Giveaway up at the moment featuring some goodies from Grace and Firefly that were kindly donated to me through their twitter page.

This is why I like both etsy and twitter for finding pretty new things and this one is a great find. Here are some of my favourite items from their etsy shop.

Not just any Birthday Card...

My birthday has been and gone, it was back over 2 and a half months ago, and you already know I'm pretty behind with my blogs and that's why this one is now appearing in July. Oh well, it still matters no matter when I blog about it.

The above card was sent to me this year for my birthday by my Dad and Stepmum. It looks like just a normal card, but it isn't. Excusing the fact that it's obviously bought by two important people in my life, the significance of this card is huge. I'm just not sure they know why.

One Year Blog Anniversary Giveaway

I first started this blog in June last year and I had intended to do a Giveaway in honour of this occasion, and then the next thing I knew it was July, and now it's the middle of July so I'm late. Oops! But as I have more of a reason to celebrate now I'll get on with it!

But anyway onto the giveaway, I've got some lovely goodies from Grace and Firefly, a great etsy shop and also she's a great tweeter too here. So onto the goodies:

Repaying an opportunity

We all know that getting your dream job can be hard work. Especially when they will ask for you to have some experience in that field. Getting that experience can be a hard thing to achieve when you have nowhere to start and most companies look for people with experience for their work experience/intern positions. It's a common problem, it happened to me before I got to where I am now.

Be a part of London 2012

Unless you've been living on the moon in recent years then you'll know that the Olympic and Paralympic Games are coming to London in 2012. Now unless you're training to compete in the Games, and well if you are "Good Luck" but I wanted to let you know about the volunteer programme - 'Young Games Maker' that has been launched.

Sarah Loves... her Twitter friends

Now you already know that I love twitter. I do. I love it. There are some people who have tried it and don't understand how people can or would want to use it - I am not one of those people. I have been on twitter over a year now and I admit I may have a small addiction to it.

Spain win The World Cup

Well it's over. Another World Cup won. Spain I feel are worthy winners across the tournament, although it certainly wasn't great World Cup overall. I don't just mean England's dismal display which I might add I'm still trying to erase from my memory. But there have been better tournaments, but I'm not taking anything away from Spain.

What's in a job?

What does your partner do as a job? I don't just mean the title but do you actually know what their job is?

The reason I ask this is just last week I was at my volunteer job and there I work with adults with learning disabilities. For some reason we got into talking about jobs whilst we went out raspberry picking (nom nom nom) and they were intrigued to know what I do in my job and Spurs boy does. My brother has Downs Syndrome so I've always found I can put slightly difficult things across to different audiences with ease.

If there's no truth and honesty there would never be love

"You trip along through life minding your own business until one day - BANG someone steps in front of you, stops you in your tracks, leans in to kiss you and rips your heart right out of your chest. And it's alright you know, it doesn't hurt, not at first, not so long as they look after it and maybe give you theirs in return. And you might be lucky that the last person to rip your heart out is the one who will look after it. The one who will wrap it in tissue paper and tinsel and stars.

Being married means you join a club, you see a lot of other people with rings on their fingers and you go "Oh yeah I did that". I stood up in front of the world, told someone that I love them and I wanted to be with them for the rest of my life. And it really doesn't matter how you do it, any way you do it, just as long as there's truth and honesty. If there's no truth and honesty there would never be love, no beauty"
Kelly Maguire, Shameless TV Series (played by Sally Carman)

Someone who reads my blog might be interested to know that the series is mainly written by Paul Abbott who was born and bred in Burnley. Much of the series is based on his own experiences growing up there.

Seven Things You Didn't Know About Me

I was awarded this by the lovely Nickie at Typecast way back in April. Yes I know I'm seriously slacking, and you'll notice that the next few weeks will have some of my catch up meme's/tags! Bad Sarah!

Anyway back to this tag, I'm supposed to reveal seven things that you don't know about me. So here goes:

Sarah Loves... The Black Keys

Mega big fan. Never seen them live before. Then they supported Kings of Leon last week at Hyde Park and I'm now an even bigger fan.

Could I be a vegetarian?

Now the title of this post will already have made some of my friends and family gasp at the thought of me becoming a vegetarian. I'll explain why.

OPI iPhone Application

As an iPhone user I have often blogged about good and bad applications that I have used. You'll also notice that after my completely upsetting update with my iPhone I am now back in love with my iPhone. Phew! Also now that the weather is much better :-) I have noticed that my feet are in desperate need of some TLC. I spend a lot of my time in trainers doing my coaching and teaching but also for my volunteer work that I do I need to wear steel toe capped boots. So my feet are in need of love.

Pretty things

You might remember me saying I'm not a real girlie girl. In fact typing those words makes me cringe. Yuck! But sometimes it's nice to add a touch of femininity to your clothes. As I've said before I spend quite a lot of my time in sportswear but I still have meetings to go to that need to look a little less like I'm on a mission of war.

Recently Dorothy Perkins have forced me kicking and screaming into buying some clothes emailed me their monthly newsletter of offers and I have bought a few things ;-) This time it's all about ruffles and lace :-O
