Here is one of my older posts as I fill in for my temporary hiatus away on my holidays. This is one of my favourite previous blogs, hope you like it.

This girl is off to New York
In the lyrics of the Jay Z and Alicia Keys song "Empire State of Mind" this best sums up how I feel about my trip to New York.

Date Night is back
Readers of my blog might have picked up on the fact that it's been a bit of a hard time for me and Spurs boy in the past few weeks. Now that I look back I don't know exactly what the turning point was or what it was that "fixed" the situation but it's done.

One Tree Hill Quote - Regret
"Regret comes in all shapes and sizes. Some are small like when we do a bad thing for a good reason. Some are bigger like when you let down a friend.
Some of us escape the pain of regret by making the right choice. Some of us have little time for regret because we're looking forward to the future. Sometimes we have to fight to come to terms with the past, and sometimes we bury our regret by promising to change your own ways.
But, our biggest regrets are not for the things we did -- but, for the things we didn't do. Things we didn't say that could've save someone that we care about. Especially when we can see the dark storm that's headed their way."

Anyone for swaps?
So recently I have been caught waiting patiently for Little man to come out of school doing World Cup sticker swaps in the playground. Yes sad I know but I'm determined to complete the album before the World Cup starts.

10 surprising signs that they are interested
I got forwarded this list in an email from a work colleague about the surprising signs that someone shows to show they are interested. It made me chuckle.

Sarah Loves...House
I have always been a fan of the TV series House. Maybe not for the reason that many of you might think of though. Or maybe we are on the same wavelength.
I'm a bit of a Sherlock Holmes fan. I have my Dad to thank for making me so, though it's not a bad thing. But it is his fault :-) Moving in with Spurs boy and I realised he was a Sherlock Holmes fan too and weirdly this had been passed down through his family too. Dad's eh?

So who killed Calvin?
Finally this week we will find out who kills Calvin Valentine in Hollyoaks, we watched the flash forward episode back at the end of 2009 (it doesn't feel that long ago) and this week the storyline will finally catch up and the killer will be revealed.

A little bit of variety never hurt no one
My music taste is pretty varied. I think it always has been though. Working in a music store for several years only made my music taste even more varied and unfortunately it did mean I was pretty up to date with even the latest "big thing" on the music scene. This wasn't necessarily a good thing.
I hardly listen to commercial radio any more and I tend to stick to the music I know best and have followed for a long time. I rely on friends, twitter, facebook etc to find out about the new music I should have a listen to.

Just gotta have shoes...
It's always very sad to see another shop head into administration and unfortunately Faith Shoes have announced that the administrators are in. Some stores have already closed and others are continuing to trade, for the time being.
I've worked in a shop awaiting closure and it was the strangest and saddest feeling. Luckily I was able to move branches and it eventually did work out well, but I felt like I was cheating on the shop that had closed by being happy about moving on. Silly I know.

Iron Man 2 and the Beautiful People
After going to see Iron Man 2 at the weekend two things have been definitely realised. I do have a big crush on Robert Downey Jr. and Scarlett Johansson is a complete fox.
I do not mean the animal kind, well maybe. As a heterosexual woman it's hard to miss that Scarlett is indeed a very beautiful woman, something you can tell must have annoyed Gwyneth Paltrow when Scarlett was cast in the film.

Have you heard of Tumblr?
Tumblr is a blogging platform that enables users to post text, images, video, links, quotes and audio to their tumblelog. You can follow other users, like their posts and re-blog any posts that you like onto your own blog. In many ways it is similar to Twitter.

The Faithful
So the football season is over. The trophy is on loan to Stamford Bridge. They had better look after it, as we already want it back. Manchester United will be back BETTER and STRONGER next season.

Becoming a WAG
With everything that's going on at the moment I probably was more than a little surprised that Spurs boy has joined a Sunday League football team. I asked on Twitter if this meant I had now become a WAG, and apparently it does!
So a WAG I must be. Immediately my head was full of premieres, shoe shopping, perfumes, my own clothing line etc. In reality though my life doesn't change, I was just getting carried away for a few minutes hours.

Tough times ahead...
You know when there's a TV programme that looks really good but yet you know from the trailer or preview reviews that you are going to find it particularly upsetting? But you are filled with mixed views about watching it but in the end you decide to watch it anyway as you feel it's alright and you'll cope. Tissues at the ready I sat by myself the other night and watched Chris Ryan's Strike Back.

1996
You know when you hear a song that instantly reminds you a time in your life?
A couple of days ago when (cough) the weather was sunny, I heard this song for the first time in ages and I instantly seemed to daydream back to the year it was released - 1996.

Have you decided who to vote for yet?
I'm not going to tell you who I'm going to vote for or who I think you should vote for in tomorrow's UK elections. That is between you, the pen, the voting form and the voting booth.

Sarah Loves... Empire Records
You've seen it right?
If not, you are missing out and if you have seen it then you know why I love it so much.
Empire Records is a film about a small independent record shop managed by Joe. His employees are all high-schoolers and young adults. The staff is very much a self-created family, with Joe as the reluctant and annoyed father figure.

Go away rain!
Don't you love Bank Holidays?
I want more.
I have a date with Little man and Spurs boy to watch Snow White this afternoon.
We were hoping for a BBQ but due to the sudden rain and cold weather that will be on hold. I'll be a little annoyed to wake up on Tuesday and be stuck in the office!
