Do you feel taken for granted?

Image from HERE

When someone tells me that they will do something I go through that thought process that they will actually do it. Where I get confused is when people don't actually mean that they will and actually want me to to argue them down and say "I'll do it. No arguments". I think I miss the signals, is there a handshake I need to know about because recently I'm really falling short of the signs.

How did I end up in St Petersburg?

At first I had no clue at all to where I was and people on the street were pushing past me as I carried on walking. I wasn't sure of where I was walking to and then started walking up a few steps and then noticed I was walking towards a big building. A museum of somekind. As I pushed open the doors the museum was full of people and it was a struggle to get through to the back of the room.

Sarah Loves… Ribena

As a child I loved Ribena and that’s never really stopped. There is always some in at home and not just for Little man! I want some too. I think it’s because it reminds me of being young… I mean younger of course.

New Walkers Crinkles

I was asked if I was interested in trying out some new Walkers Crisps and of course I was never going to say no. I had no idea what was coming and was excited when I received my two trial packs, both in the same flavour - Cheddar & Onion and they were crinkle cut.

Vroom Vroom!

F1 is back this weekend and this girl is very happy, I've missed the vroom vroom (yes that's my car noise - shh!) and again there are new rules and already the competition it heating up at home. I'm firmly in the Red Bull camp, with a soft spot for Jenson Button and Spurs boy is still cheering on those Ferrari boys.

Long Run and What A Friend

Don't ask me to bet on who will score in a football match or for a score prediction as I'll get it wrong and probably curse the team. Ask me to pick a horse and you, and I might be surprised.

Sarah Loves... The Wii

I remember the day I was given a Nintendo Wii for my birthday. The package was wrapped as it was in its box, no pretend packaging to try to hide what it was. I'd been a manager in a Video Games department for a while and I "knew" that box. I was like a kid at Christmas!

Last weekend I made cake pops! I'm now a little bit addicted to them

For those that don't know cake pops are cakes on a stick, coevered in chocolate and then sprinkles added. They are just simply delicious! Mine look a bit mushy as I'd packaged them up a bit too quickly. Oops! Im so impatient! I really must work on that :-)

It will soon be Summer!

Image from HERE

For the first time this week I got to drive home in the Spring sunshine, I even had to put my sunglasses on. It's not quite warm enough to have the windows down though, not long till the Summer. I'd had a bit of a mix around with my iPod this weekend and then as I drove out of my work car park I hit shuffle. I love it when your iPod seems to know your mood, I wanted some happy sing-a-long tunes.

Doctors & Detectives

Image from HERE

When I was at secondary school I wanted to be a barrister, yes even if I had to wear one of those wigs! Sadly the thought passed when I realised academically there was no way that I would achieve that goal. I had another thought of being a doctor but again this passed due to my non science academical mind.

Guest Post: When the penny drops...

Image from HERE

Today Caribbean Princess is on my blog today as part of my blog swap series. She has her own blog; Musings of a Caribbean Princess and she has a particular love for filofaxes but she's chosen not to write about that for my blog, so anyway here's her piece;

Pass me a pen!

When was the last time you wrote something?

On paper that is.

I admit I love writing in my notebooks and have a slight major stationery obsession so I love to write. I don't write in any particular pen though, after years at school of writing with a fountain pen I like that I don't use them now. I have still got 3 fountain pens though.

Bourbon biscuits... the tin didn't stay full for long! Oops!

So this week has been weird, another week of not mentioning the football well for me anyway, Spurs boy has obviously been overjoyed this week as Tottenham made it through to the quarter finals of The Champions League. I think the less said about my own football team's woes the better ;-)

Strabbies

I should explain that 'strabbies' are what I called strawberries as a child, as such I still call them that. Last year our strawberry plants were quite successful. Some of the plants only survived the fruiting time but I took a chance on a few for this year.

Keep it on my bookshelf

Image from HERE

You may remember I did NaNoWriMo in 2009 and up until the start of 2011 I hadn't started to read what I had written. I did write some utter rubbish in parts but despite that there are some good parts. It's not about writing a masterpiece it's more about challenging yourself to do something.

Pancakes!

Image from HERE

Every pancake day I always say "Why don't we have pancakes more". They are not hard to make and they are really yummy but it seems weird to only have them once or maybe a few times a year. I need to get more pancakes into my life... well stomach really ;-)

Take a smile

Image from HERE

There's a lot of doom and gloom about at the moment; job cuts, bill increases and your football team loses. Ok so the last one is only a certain percentage but no doubt the first two have mad you have a sad if not angry face over the last few weeks. So it's Monday, another week to get through so let's start the week with some positivity.

Weekly Loves

This week consisted of cherry drops and post it notes!

I've been on a big list-making exercise this week. Cherry drops have helped me to organise. Honest!

I'm off the crutches now, although there was a slightly embarrassing moment when I handed them back and I was still holding onto them. I did let go... eventually.

Realising you have an audience

Image from HERE

When you've been blogging a while you might think about taking a peek your "viewing figures" I signed up to statcounter after a few months of starting my blog as I was intrigued. I'm a complete geek as you may have figured out and so I find them really interesting but it's not actually changed my writing style. I've never tailored anything to an audience it's always been "my space".

Tutor Typing

 Image from HERE

I may have mentioned how impatient I can be, this though does only tend to be with my self and with waiting for things ie. holidays, parties etc. I'd never have been able to even consider my new tutoring job without some level of patience. For others I do have a high tolerance level and recently I found a new test for my patience with others and also my self.

Sarah Loves... Cranium the Board Game

Now I love Monopoly but Cranium is way up there alongside and possibly could take over! Admittedly you need 4 or more people to play so it's only good with enough people. Recently we've tended to play it with a bigger group and had 3 people in a team when we've had a lot of friends over.
