I use #manutd as my hashtag for the club but have seen #manchesterunited #united used as well so maybe for 2010 if we could group together and just use the same we'd get the team on the list for next year? :-)

Quality Street Favourites

Ok so have you ever counted how many of each chocolate you get in a Quality Street (can be Roses etc) tin?

Well I'd seen Simon Fairbairn had done a blog about it and thought as someone had bought me a tin for Christmas that I would do the same, see photo above.

My favourite is the Green Triangle.

So;

Toffee Finger = 10
Toffee Penny  =12
Toffee Deluxe = 11
Mint Choc Block = 9
Coconut Eclair = 11
Purple One = 7
Orange Choc = 5
Strawberry Delight = 13
Green Triangle = 6
Orange Creme = 12
Caramel Swirl = 5
Vanilla Fudge = 11

Only 6 of my favourites! Boo hoo! Also I hate toffee's!

But my brother bought me 3 of the GIANT Green Triangle's so my Christmas wasn't entirely ruined!

Tim Lovejoy's introduction to rugby

You've probably seen this video if you follow Tim Lovejoy or Will Carling on twitter, but if not here is Tim Lovejoy being put through his paces by Will Carling and the Harlequins squad. I especially like the bit when Carling tells Lovejoy to take off the gloves and of course Lovejoy's cheeky jump try at the end :-)

The Good The Bad and The Ugly of my week

The Good

Obviously Spurs Boy is a major good point of the week! :-)
I have never felt so full of food and drink since...well probably last Christmas! Another bit of cake anyone?
I got another follower on my blog this week :) Again thank you all!
I thought the BBC did a fantastic job on Christmas Day for the Royle Family, Gavin & Stacey and then the Catherine Tate show; shown one after the other. Fantastic! I laughed so much!
I'm still however unprepared to see David Tennant leave Doctor Who but thought Hamlet was superb and recommend you all catch it on the BBC iplayer (not sure about his appearance on Catherine Tate though, was funny but a bit weird)
I have been sorting out new work opportunities and the New Year seems exciting and yet busy but this doesn't mean my blogging will stop - Oh no! I'll still be here!
My best friend and I did a silly girlie best friends quiz from an old magazine (old as in 2006'ish) and at the end it had a description of what kind of person you were. Both descriptions were very accurate; mine described me as; Quick witted,Wacky sense of humour, Impatient, Friend for Life, Secretly romantic. At first I did not think mine was accurate (as we all tend to do when someone says what we are like) but my friend quickly told me that it was indeed true and I was the same with her description given. I think they are good qualities, well maybe except the impatient part - but that's what make me, me!
Any Sex & The City fans reading this? Well look what I found this week - the trailer for the new movie
This week also saw the ending of a few of my favourite TV programmes - Spooks ended and it ended in a way that we still don't know what happened! Was anyone else left screaming to know if they had got out? Argh! One Tree Hill ended and this saw characters Lucas and Peyton driving off into the sunset with their daughter Sawyer so farewell as they are not in the next series. Gossip Girl also ended and cannot wait to see the next Series also. Has anyone read the Gossip Girl books? Any good?
The Hollyoaks flashback episode was as good as I had thought it would be!
I have got addicted AGAIN to The Settlers game on my iPhone.
My local football team has been saved from administration :-)
Manchester United winning again, although I was unimpressed by performance. MUST play better!
Did I mention Spurs Boy? ;-)
How long is my good list this week! Wow

The Bad

I didn't like it when the snow then melted :-(
Hangovers!?! Had a fuzzy head the past few mornings...
Hate January Sales... the adverts (although I like the Roy Orbison "You Got It" Dreams advert) and I hate messy sale shops...urgh...internet shopping for me until February!

The Ugly

I made a new database project for my work and for some reason it didn't save, had to re-do it all. Thus putting me in a foul mood and cursing everything in sight!

For Christmas I Got...

I hope you all had a good Christmas and that Santa was very good to you all!

I had a good Christmas, I have drunk far too much alcohol in the past few days and definitely need a detox now although the New Year festivities will bring more drinking :-)

I had a early Christmas present... I am no longer single :-). I've noticed on some blogs that I read that they don't tend to name their other half by name and instead give them a nickname. So I am calling mine "Spurs Boy", he is indeed a Tottenham Hotspur season ticket holder and myself as a Manchester United fan this is going to cause some banter... well opposites attract right?

Don't want to say too much as I don't want to curse it, but I've known him for over 3 years and he makes me happy :-)

And for Christmas he bought me books... I have had my eye on the Penguin Classic clothbound re-issues (20 books in total) that were released this year (2009) and Spurs Boy bought some of them for me :-) which means he had listened and knew which ones were my favourites (although in time I would like them all!).

I now have The Hound of the Baskervilles, Alice In Wonderland, Wuthering Heights, Great Expectations, Little Women and Oliver Twist. They are truly beautiful.

He also bought me some Lush goodies so he must have been reading my blog! I was indeed spoilt. But it's lovely. Enough before you all need a sick bucket :-(

I also got lots of jewellery, make- up, gadgets for work including a desktop Henry hoover for my desk! Haha! I will be travelling 'up north' on Tuesday for more presents as I visit my Dad and the rest of my family.

I will post my The Good, The Bad and The Ugly of my week tomorrow. What did you all get for Christmas?

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas to you and hope Santa brings you everything you want!

I will be writing (I have a few blogs scheduled) and look forward to hearing about all your Christmas stories!

Merry Christmas!

P.S. Santa please can Manchester United have some defenders back from injury asap. Thanking you! x

Holmes For The Holiday

Over this holiday period I will hopefully find time to go and see Sherlock Holmes.

After finally catching serial killer and occult "sorcerer" Lord Blackwood (Mark Strong), legendary sleuth Sherlock Holmes (Robert Downey Jr.) and his assistant Dr. Watson (Jude Law) can close yet another successful case. But when Blackwood mysteriously returns from the grave and resumes his killing spree, Holmes must take up the hunt once again. Contending with his partner's new fiancée and the dimwitted head of Scotland Yard, the dauntless detective must unravel the clues that will lead him into a twisted web of murder, deceit, and black magic - and the deadly embrace of temptress Irene Adler (Rachel McAdams).

I was reminded yesterday of another Jude Law film "Alfie" and I'm sure all ladies will remember a certain scene in the film involving him in a white vest whilst playing pool, you know the one ;-)

Back to Sherlock Holmes and a website you might be interested in,  is that of John H. Watson's. Let me know if you see the film over the holiday season and Merry Christmas!

Sarah Loves... The Polar Express Movie

I love Christmas and at the moment with the snow I feel like every time I step out of my front door I am walking through the wardrobe into Narnia. It's amazing! Don't think everyone is so keen on the snow but I love it. Although it makes me want to go on holiday snowboarding again...

There are a number of Christmas films that I love and here is a list of my faves;
Home Alone
Miracle on 34th Street
It's a Wonderful Life
Love Actually
The Grinch
But most... I love The Polar Express!

The video below shows the first part of the film and if you haven't seen it then shame on you! Just make sure that you watch it this Christmas yes? Good.

Do you believe?

No Calvin No! (features Hollyoaks Spoiler)

After posting the teaser trailer on my blog here about Calvin's (Ricky Whittle) upcoming storyline in Hollyoaks more details have been released.

Monday night viewers will see a flash forward six months into the future and will see his character Calvin killed by a gunshot by a mystery assassin on his wedding day to Carmel McQueen (Gemma Merna). Tuesday night's episode returns to the present, and then the months that follow will help to unravel just who killed him.

Here is the trailer -

Don't forget to vote for Ricky Whittle in the Strictly Come Dancing Final!

Legends Part Two

Whilst Giggs was picking up his award on BBC1 (as I blogged about in my Legend Part One piece) a quick channel change to ITV saw Sir Paul McCartney performing on the X Factor Final. It was met with criticism from fans as they felt he had become a bit of a sell-out for appearing on the ITV show. Sir Macca is a good friend of both Simon Cowell and Dermot O'Leary so really who cares...it was Sir Paul McCartney!

Although I was annoyed as Jedward got to sing with him!

Will be getting (hopefully) Beatles Rock Band for Christmas so will have the opportunity myself to sing with him! Sad? No... maybe disillusional!

Legend Part One

Ryan Giggs won the 2009 Sports Personality of the Year award and whilst he deserves the honour there were a lot of people who were unhappy at the decision as fellow World Champions Jenson Button and Jessica Ennis came 2nd and 3rd respectively. I know as a Manchester United fan that Ryan Giggs is someone who is treasured by the Old Trafford faithful and I am a big fan of his and believe whenever he does decide to retire the game will miss one of its greatest ambassadors.

I voted for Jenson and Giggs (admittedly more times for the latter) but I still felt that Jenson would win.

At the age of 36, Giggs is now starting to get the accolades that have in previous years alluded him, earlier this year he won the PFA (Players Football Association) Players' Player of the Year and he has won two European Cups, 11 league titles, four FA Cups and three League Cups and is still capable of changing the game when he starts tearing into the opposition's defence - yet this was his first Sports Personality Award.

It's a shame Giggs will never reach World Champion status (although for me he has been World Champion 11 times now - lol) and maybe if he had selected to play for England it could have happened?

Some people say that Jenson had just got into the car at the right time with Brawn and will find next season his hardest yet with his move to McLaren and will team up with fellow brit Lewis Hamilton.

But for now Giggs has won the award and if you don't like it, ya just gonna have to lump it!

Sarah Loves... Percy Pigs

They are so scrummy aren't they? I can't really queue in Marks and Spencer without buying a packet.

As well as the original Percy Pigs there are now these alternatives (or you can do as I do and buy them all!)

Marks and Spencer also have a choice of Percy Pigs gift items including Percy Pigs bakery set and gift hamper see more here

The Good, The Bad and The Ugly of my week

The Good

I'm liking the new John Mayer album - is that bad?
Glad that Spotify have sorted out their problems and I still love it. Especially when I asked on twitter if they could put some Powderfinger on there and within 3 days they had done so and had even put the new album on!
Winning more prizes on twitter!
I like having a chocolate each day from my advent calendar
I've had 3 more followers to my blog this week (Thank you to all of my lovely followers)

The Bad

Shovelling gravel for the repair work on the driveway for where I volunteer - my shoulder aches!
My bruises from last week are now still a rainbow of colours and this week I have added more so my legs looks oh so pretty :-(
The hangover from a Christmas party last weekend and the realisation from talking to others that I drunk at least 3 bottles of white wine - oopsie! I had a good time though and I can remember almost everything!

The Ugly

Yesterday where I volunteer it was one of those days where lots of things went wrong from 8-9.30 ish and we all knew it was going to be one of those days and it really was.

Hollyoaks - Strictly Calvin Dancing

Now I love Hollyoaks and I love Calvin (Ricky Whittle) and whilst I'm not sure if he will now win Strictly Come Dancing but this trailer for the upcoming storyline for him looks good and loving that The Yeah Yeah Yeahs is the chosen soundtrack!
