The idea of the TV show The Voice is to find unsurprisingly THE VOICE. Other singing and talent shows have always showcased more of the best overall talent. The Voice UK website says;

I had got progressively more irritated by the format of the show, I think the first episode of over an hour and a half had about 6 performances. SIX! Far too much fillers and not enough voices. I missed a few episodes but had seen the episode with Andrea Begley and as the typical girl that I can be with my emotions, hearing her sing had made me cry. I had missed Mike Ward's audition but I started to see how he was standing out in the later rounds. I liked Leah but that was as far as that went, plus her make up scared me (not her fault but she looked ridiculous in HD). As for Matt Henry, Jessie J's favourite had gone our in the semi's (her words) so he was never going to win the final and was the first to leave on the Final night.
