Music Monday: Lissie - Go Your Own Way

I can get all kinds of crazy over certain covers of my favourite songs and I was a bit worried to hear this one. I needn't have worried. American folk singer Lissie takes a new emotional aspect to this Fleetwood Mac song, taking it down to its roots. Beautiful. Stunning.

You'll hear it on the new Twinings advert.

You can check out more from Lissie on her website.

The Friday File #19 - Chris Pine

Chris Pine is my latest entry into my Friday File. Chris is an actor and is most famous for playing James T. Kirk in the Star Trek film (2009) and will be back in Star Trek Into Darkness. I've since spotted him whilst I have been watching repeats of TV series like ER and The Guardian. I also liked him in 'Unstoppable' and also 'This Means War' is a good chick flick type film.

Music Monday: Placebo - Running Up That Hill

I know this is a Kate Bush cover but I have always been more drawn to this version than hers. I can't quite explain why as it could sound quite depressing and it's not a motivating Monday morning song. I apologise!

The song has been heard in many TV programmes and it's one of my favourite Placebo songs.

The Friday File #18 - Daniel Craig

It's James Bond! I've been shouted at for not already showcasing Mr Bond's talents. The Bond in question is of course Daniel Craig. Before Bond it was 'Layer Cake' and 'Munich' that I had seen Daniel in first. I think he makes a great Bond and I can't wait to watch Skyfall again and see what's next for Bond.

Music Monday: Jack White - Love is Blindness

As I was having a bit of a 'forthcoming movies for 2013' moment I looked at some trailers and came across the trailer for The Great Gatsby featuring Leonardo DiCaprio, Tobey Maguire and Carey Mulligan. That song, what is that song?

Jack White and 'Love is Blindness' - a U2 cover. Brilliant and the movie looks good too.

The Friday File #17 - Aaron Tveit

This guy is about to be everywhere... again. Aaron Tveit is in the screen version of Les Miserables in cinemas today. So you'll get used to hearing his name. Some of us have seen him before in Gossip Girl. He's more well know for his musical perfomances of which his most recent 'Catch Me If You Can' did very well on stage.

Music Monday: The Rolling Stones - Gimme Shelter

My parents weren't big Rolling Stones fans, well they might have been but I rarely heard their music played in cars or at home. I can't really remember the first time I heard "Gimme Shelter" but I know it was the first song that I heard using headphones. Not the Apple ones the proper big ones that weighed your head down. How grown up did you feel in those? And yeah they were very cool.
