Finally free of Farmville

I have been playing Farmville for well over two years now and finally I can write about it in the past tense as I no longer play it! Yes. I know finally I have stopped playing. The only stupid thing is it was actually farmville that stopped me from playing the game, the app broke. It didn't just break. It was broken for weeks so guess what I deleted it and my account.

Wanted: Gameboy iPad Sleeve

How cool is this Gameboy iPad Sleeve? It's definitely wanted.

Firefox Home App for iPhone

My preferred browser is Firefox and has been for some time. The one thing that annoyed me with my iPhone was how unpractical Safari was for me and I had got tired of adding my bookmarks. Then Spurs boy said "Get the Firefox app".

Kindle App for iPhone and iPad

I've always stuck to the idea that although I wanted a kindle I couldn't get my head around not reading an "actual book". I love the smell of a new book and turning over pages of a "real" book. So the kindle didn't really appeal to me.

Then Spurs boy bought an iPad and all that changed.

Seven Things You Didn't Know About Me

I was awarded this by the lovely Nickie at Typecast way back in April. Yes I know I'm seriously slacking, and you'll notice that the next few weeks will have some of my catch up meme's/tags! Bad Sarah!

Anyway back to this tag, I'm supposed to reveal seven things that you don't know about me. So here goes:

OPI iPhone Application

As an iPhone user I have often blogged about good and bad applications that I have used. You'll also notice that after my completely upsetting update with my iPhone I am now back in love with my iPhone. Phew! Also now that the weather is much better :-) I have noticed that my feet are in desperate need of some TLC. I spend a lot of my time in trainers doing my coaching and teaching but also for my volunteer work that I do I need to wear steel toe capped boots. So my feet are in need of love.

iPhone #ios4 Update Fail

Don't worry I haven't broken my iPhone, but let's just say after my Sarah Loves...her iPhone post I have fallen out of love with it in the past 24 hours. It's not good.

Sarah Loves... her iPhone

My iPhone goes everywhere with me, wherever I am it is never too far away. You might remember my devastation when I had dropped my phone and it failed to work, luckily it all got sorted and I'm now even more careful with it. It's my life, or rather, my life is in it.

Sarah Loves... Tumblr

Have you heard of Tumblr?

Tumblr is a blogging platform that enables users to post text, images, video, links, quotes and audio to their tumblelog. You can follow other users, like their posts and re-blog any posts that you like onto your own blog. In many ways it is similar to Twitter.

Sarah Loves...Books

I love books, I always have a book next to the bed but I have been known to get into quite a lapse reading pattern. Admittedly it does depend on the book, some I can take a few days to get through and others can take me weeks and dare I say it months.

The Good The Bad and The Ugly of my week

A good week with some very big highs and some lows courtesy of a broken boiler :-(. How are you all?

Next iPhone Application - FAIL!

I downloaded the Next iPhone Application the other day as I do like to have a browse around the internet, have you noticed? Anyway I thought this one would be ideal for when I'm bored or commuting and need to find a certain outfit but this is in no way a good choice. Luckily it was free or I would be really mad.

The Good The Bad and The Ugly of my week

The Good

I have scheduled this post for Sunday evening as I will be away this weekend to London with Spurs boy. This is actually our first trip away as a couple and we really cannot wait. He was away this week and the place seemed empty without him and it's good to have him back. Our trip to London is a little bit for Valentine's although we have agreed "NO PRESENTS" but I'm arranging Saturday and he will arrange what we do Sunday. We won't know until the day what we are doing. I can tell you now that on Saturday I have planned some shopping (only a little as he'll moan and my leg will hurt) and then a cocktail making class, then dinner and then off to see Invictus. No idea what he has planned for Sunday though, we both hate surprises!

As I have spent most of my week recovering from my hamstring injury, which turned out to be a Grade 2 tear, only had Grade 1 before :-( I have been very much enjoying comfort food. Not so much chocolate and crisps but jacket potato with cheese and beans, lasagne, pancakes etc Nom nom nom!

I got another follower to my blog - Welcome!

Bestie came to stay with me whilst Spurs boy was away and it was fab. It's her birthday on Monday, she'll be 25. We are having dinner with her, her family and friends in the evening and next weekend will be the big party! I still need to get an outfit and of course her present.

Regarding the hamstring injury as a certain Ryan Giggs used to have troublesome hamstrings a few years ago I'm now being referred to on twitter as "Twitter's Giggsy" which I like :-))

My Lakeland order arrived :-), the heated towel rail is fantastic, the Cupcake Cake Pan and Paella Pan will be used next week. The make up caddy has been placed on the dresser, haven't actually put anything into it yet as I need to have a good old clear out of all my make up. Another thing for my to do list this week

I'd been waiting and waiting for the new Sade album and as it's been 10 years since her last album it has been some wait. Soldier of Love is fantastic from start to finish and it's really the only thing at the moment out of choice that I want to listen to. The title track is probably my favourite, check it out here.

My Airline Conquerer USA score is now 324! Whoop whoop!

Totally addicted to Rock Band both on The Wii and my iPhone. Still on medium though, guitaring is my choice of instrument. Spurs boy likes to drum!

As I have been working from home I have been more than sticking to my revision plan and I've actually done more than I had planned for which is very good!

Apparently I will like the new 2010 range of filofaxes as I had sent the Filofax twitter page my link to my recent blog and based on my choices they said I will like the new range! Very excited and apparently it's out from March! Cannot wait...but I will have to!

I saw this picture and it made me want a panda even more! Maybe not at all 16 though

Liking the new England Away Shirt for 2010-2012

The Bad

Ryan Giggs out injured (no not his hamstring, that's me!) for four weeks :-( So he'll miss the crucial Champions League match with AC Milan this coming week and The Carling Cup Final and a couple of Premier League games.

Facebook has changed again! I know soon enough we will all forget about what it looked like before the changes but honestly WTF happened? And... most crucially my news feed doesn't actually work and always shows things from a day ago. So that's a facebook fail :-(

The golf practice is going to have to wait till my leg is better, for now have been playing Tiger Woods (snigger) PGA Tour 10 on the wii. But I can play it sitting down so it's not really counting as practice is it?

Spurs boys work trip was not very successful and he will need to go out again. Boo! :-(

The Ugly

Definitely my hamstring! It is definitely better now but when it was swollen it was not so good. I swore...LOTS. I felt stupid having crutches but it was much easier with them and although I'm not using them much now it's nice to know they are still there in case I need them.

Football managers are said to love team selection problems and Mr Capello seems to be having a few with regards World Cup selection. Not just with the John Terry mess but now with Ashley Cole out for 3 months after suffering from a broken ankle. Please Mr Capello could you look towards James Milner or maybe even Leighton Baines as a suitable replacement for Cole. That said though; Milner and Baines you need to step it up a gear and prove you deserve your place too!

Another Filofax in the Home

No it's not mine. Spurs boy has decided he should join the Filofax community and has purchased this before he went on his trip away and he is already using it! I thought it was a bit of a joke when he said he would buy one as he has survived all these years just using his brain (no joke) and more recently his iPhone. He has about 10-15 property projects on the go at any one time and they are all at different stages and yet he knows exactly which one without having to look it up. I am not like this at all!

When I said I would help with his business I told him I would need to have this information written down as I cannot just "know" it all like he does. So I got him to write it all down and although I think he was a little freaked out by doing it I think it helped him to see it could actually help him. He also has noticed that other people that do the same work as him have a Filofax or a likewise organiser of some type.  It's probably a trend thing but he'd never admit it.

So I still am coping with my little Mini filofax and whilst it's working as I can write small it's still not ideal. So I have been having another browse on the Filofax website since learning of Spurs boy's purchase and as we will be staying in London this weekend I might just have to pop to the Filofax store. I did send a little tweet to Filofax about there not being a nice choice of purple organisers, they have the Adelphi range but I'm not fond of the padded jacket look. Filofax then replied to say there "might" be some purple ones in the 2010 range and they will be instore March - June.

I'll still go to the store but for now here are my favourites, but I might just have to hold on and see what this new 2010 range has - please be purple, please be purple...

The Good The Bad and The Ugly of my week

The Good

Spurs boy surprising me with tickets to see Arsenal v Manchester United, although it's his birthday weekend! Was fantastic especially as United won 3-1 and I do like to be proved wrong as for months I have been absolutely shouting and hurling general abuse in the direction of Nani and now it seems he's turned a corner. Fantastic! Also Rooney scored his 100th premiership goal and I screamed when he scored so much that I lost my voice. A great week for my boys at United :-))

Watched Bride Wars the other day and was pleasantly surprised to see Bryan Greenburg was in it :-)

I won a fantastic bag from Funky Diva Designs this week and will be featuring more of the bags in my 'Sarah Loves...' post this week

Did everyone watch Celebrity Big Brother? To be honest I didn't really watch a lot but I had to watch it when Davina went in, how excited was she? Haha bless her although they were pretty mean to her. I thought her little chick noises were so cute!

My first Tesco online food order arrived, not quite on time but enough to make me worry that I hadn't ordered it!

Not sure why I have only just realised but I bought Rock Band for the iPhone which is my new favourite game to play! Beatles Rock Band for the Wii also going well, now on medium.

I now have got my top score up to 254 on Airline Conquerer USA, still not as high as before the updates. But ho hum!

Had my first proper wage for a while and it felt oh so good! Haven't had time to do any shopping yet but I will be :-). Obviously have bought presents for Spurs boy's birthday all sorted and gotta stay quiet about what he's got (his birthday is February 1st). Also having money again meant I could treat Spurs boy to a meal out and he hates surprises and to be honest I did wind him up about it, but it's nice to have a bit of power every now and again right?

The Bad

I want an iPad but would like them to change the name so that it doesn't sound like a make of sanitary towels. Mega fail! :-((

Not bad for me but a certain Chelsea and England defender John Terry  has taken over the headlines over the weekend. Naughty boy it seems and what a great big hot mess he seems to be in! (This would probably be in the ugly section but it didn't happen to me so felt it was just the bad)

The Ugly

I went to the Spurs match at White Hart Lane against Fulham with Spurs boy (this is not the ugly part) but on the way to the stadium my iPhone died, I had at least half a battery left! Then I had to call Spurs boy from a public telephone (haven't used one in ages - lol) so I knew where to meet him. I felt lost without my phone and if I'm honest I felt a bit vulnerable to be in London without a working phone!

Good thing is I now have a brand new replacement iPhone and it's all shiny and new. Remember to back up your iPhone peeps, I always try to every couple of days but will start to try to get into a better routine.

Saturday was a terrible day - we had a phonecall to say that Spurs boy's Mum had a car accident, nothing serious but at the time we were both concerned until we had seen her. Then when we came back home we were in the middle of a powercut and our washing machine was stopped mid cycle and has now broken :-( Spurs boy has said he should be able to fix it though :-)

The Good The Bad and The Ugly of my week

The Good

I throughly enjoyed my first Jukari session, and I hope to go again in February :-)

I love Glee! Definite new TV obsession

Absolutely love the Pussycat London collection at New Look that I blogged already about here

Spurs boy bought us a breadmaker, I had mentioned on twitter about wanting one and I seemed to get very mixed views on whether getting one was a good idea. But Spurs boy likes gadgets and so he bought one. I love it! I made banana bread today and it really helped with getting rid of my hangover :-) I have been asked to make chocolate banana bread, anyone tried it?

I completed my first Tesco online food shop and it will arrive this week :-)

Driving is no longer a scary thing, I have now driven on the M25 in rush hour. I think I can now say driving fear over! :-)

Went to an engagement party of people Spurs boy and I used to work with and they asked me to be Chief Bridesmaid and Spurs boy to be Best Man. We both feel very honoured and I am incredibly excited. I won tickets to The National Wedding Show this week from This Little Lady Went To London and these will be put to good use now.

Good news on the football front that Owen Hargreaves should be back playing again really soon, Oh how we have missed you! It was his birthday this week too Happy Birthday Owen!

I don't know if I've ever mentioned this before but I love this idea of pubs having board games available to play. Spurs boy and I went to the pub for food today and we ended up staying and playing scrabble with our friends. I love it and we plan to do it again soon!

The Bad

I still haven't got used to it being 2010, I keep writing 2009!

Both myself and Spurs boy had football sulks regarding our teams and even though we had them we seemed to cope really well with them. I think the main rule is to avoid the one having the football sulk until it's over!

After finding my filofax I need to get a bigger one, I have too much to write down and can't get my handwriting much smaller! Not really a bad thing as I need to do some shopping :-)

My next weekend free is March 13th! Busy times but again this isn't necessarily bad as I guess it keeps me out of trouble!

The Ugly

I dropped my iPhone this week and for a scary 30 minutes or so I couldn't get it to work. I am now pleased to say that it does now work, I think it just wanted to make me feel guilty for dropping it! And I did :-(

The Good The Bad and The Ugly of my week

The Good

I have been doing a lot more driving this week and confidence is up! Even better now that the snow has gone :-)

Also good news that the snow has gone as can now wear 'normal' shoes and was pleased to be back in my heels at the end of the week.

This week I started reviewing products for DynaGirl and this week it was Laidbare Sunflower Handcream which was absolutely gorgeous! DynaGirl is the first person I've ever met off twitter (so far) and she is fab! Check out her store for more reasons to spend spend spend or better still, get the hints out ready for your man for Valentine's Day gifts!

Spurs Boy has been out of the country this weekend and isn't back till Tuesday :-( but have been able to have uber catch up time with my best mate which has been amazing! We went yesterday to see Up In The Air with George Clooney (swoon!) Vera Farminga, Anna Kendrick and Jason Bateman. It is such an amazing film with such a great quote that I now probably will use a lot "Everyone needs a co-pilot" and I still can't find anything I didn't like about the film (and that's quite impressive for me). Check out the trailer here

I saw the trailer for The Good Wife soon to be on Channel 4 and I'm already hooked. I loved Julianna Marguiles in ER and of course Chris Noth in Sex and the City and Law and Order so this programme already had me intrigued. Check out this behind the scenes footage trailer here

Flat update - moving stuff over into Spurs Boy's place for now until we work out what we're going to do. He said I can bring in "girlie" touches, I'm not into that kind of thing so we'll see. Will be looking for some furniture help though so will probably post up choices on here

This week me and my best mate have been asked to attend a Jukari course in London (JUKARI = REEBOK + CIRQUE DU SOLEIL = JUKARI Fit to Fly). I am really excited as we have the session in the morning, then lunch and then an afternoon of spa pampering treatments.

Loving playing Words With Friends on the iPhone, had it ages but recently more people seem to have it. It's a free app that is like scrabble, if you want a game my username is - blissbubbley on there too.

The Bad

I'd got addicted to Airline Conquerer USA on my iPhone and there was a new update and now it's just too complicated and my highest score was over 800 and now I'm lucky to get to 100. Frustrated me loads this week!

I don't like invoicing - but I need to do it to get paid!

The Ugly

Weather reports say heavy snow may return this week - Nooooooooo! I don't mind the snow but this country comes to a standstill when it snows. Although it does sure look pretty to look at and play in!

Found my old filofax!

I wrote a post asking "Does anyone use a filofax anymore?" back in October and it turned out from people's comments on here and on my twitter page that they do indeed still use them. I had asked whether people instead used iPhone's (and of course could be blackberry too) and the general thing seemed to be to use both.

I did have my eye on this Butterfly Personal Organiser but decided that as I already had a filofax it was silly to go out and buy another. But couldn't actually work out where it was? A couple of searches through boxes and it was found (Yay!). Mine is the one pictured above and it is Mini size, it's actually perfect as it fits in my bag and is not too heavy. I noticed at a few meetings and trips on the tube into London that people do still use a filofax! At a meeting I went to this week they were using their filofaxes AND iPhone and Blackberry.

I use the diary inserts (week on two pages - my writing is quite small but never enough for just one page for a week) and the address pages. I like to use the coloured ruled notepaper as I feel it makes me feel more inspirational! I've only been using a filofax again properly really in the last week and will update later on as to how it's working etc and what works best for me. Anyone got any tips?

The Good The Bad and The Ugly of my week

The Good

Obviously Spurs Boy is a major good point of the week! :-)
I have never felt so full of food and drink since...well probably last Christmas! Another bit of cake anyone?
I got another follower on my blog this week :) Again thank you all!
I thought the BBC did a fantastic job on Christmas Day for the Royle Family, Gavin & Stacey and then the Catherine Tate show; shown one after the other. Fantastic! I laughed so much!
I'm still however unprepared to see David Tennant leave Doctor Who but thought Hamlet was superb and recommend you all catch it on the BBC iplayer (not sure about his appearance on Catherine Tate though, was funny but a bit weird)
I have been sorting out new work opportunities and the New Year seems exciting and yet busy but this doesn't mean my blogging will stop - Oh no! I'll still be here!
My best friend and I did a silly girlie best friends quiz from an old magazine (old as in 2006'ish) and at the end it had a description of what kind of person you were. Both descriptions were very accurate; mine described me as; Quick witted,Wacky sense of humour, Impatient, Friend for Life, Secretly romantic. At first I did not think mine was accurate (as we all tend to do when someone says what we are like) but my friend quickly told me that it was indeed true and I was the same with her description given. I think they are good qualities, well maybe except the impatient part - but that's what make me, me!
Any Sex & The City fans reading this? Well look what I found this week - the trailer for the new movie
This week also saw the ending of a few of my favourite TV programmes - Spooks ended and it ended in a way that we still don't know what happened! Was anyone else left screaming to know if they had got out? Argh! One Tree Hill ended and this saw characters Lucas and Peyton driving off into the sunset with their daughter Sawyer so farewell as they are not in the next series. Gossip Girl also ended and cannot wait to see the next Series also. Has anyone read the Gossip Girl books? Any good?
The Hollyoaks flashback episode was as good as I had thought it would be!
I have got addicted AGAIN to The Settlers game on my iPhone.
My local football team has been saved from administration :-)
Manchester United winning again, although I was unimpressed by performance. MUST play better!
Did I mention Spurs Boy? ;-)
How long is my good list this week! Wow

The Bad

I didn't like it when the snow then melted :-(
Hangovers!?! Had a fuzzy head the past few mornings...
Hate January Sales... the adverts (although I like the Roy Orbison "You Got It" Dreams advert) and I hate messy sale shops...urgh...internet shopping for me until February!

The Ugly

I made a new database project for my work and for some reason it didn't save, had to re-do it all. Thus putting me in a foul mood and cursing everything in sight!

Settlers Game has come to the iPhone

You may have head me mention that I like to play the Settlers PC Game and it's now available on the iPhone and iPod Touch. I only downloaded it the other day and so far so good. If you've played it before then you know what it's all about and what to do. For those that haven't there are all the tutorials you need to be able to play!

Just as I'd stopped playing the PC Game for a while I've now got it on my phone!
