Hello all, I bet you thought I'd been abandoning you - I guess in some ways I was. I've enjoyed the past week being away from the computer, although my iPhone was never too far away. Actually I bet you didn't even miss me did you? :-)

Time for The Ashes
The Ashes starts this week and I want to be able to stay up and watch it all but that's seriously gonna interrupt my sleeping pattern as coverage starts at 11pm here. I think my morning routine will involve meditation and then a cricket catch up! What a way to start the day :-)

The Big March on Monday 15th November 2010
On Monday 15th November 2010 there is to be a groundbreaking campaign hosted online and will culminate at No 10 Downing Street. Virtual marchers will walk across 60 websites to take a stand against bullying. We are asking for the Government to help to protect children from bullying, violence and harassment.

Does the FA do refunds?
Forgive me if this still seems as bitter and disappointed as I was during and straight after England's awful World Cup 0-0 draw against Algeria in South Africa. Even after a night's sleep I am still annoyed but mostly I feel letdown. Again.

My Summer Song
Every year there is a song that I hear around this time of year that becomes my song of the Summer. The last few days I have definitely found mine, as it seems to be playing loads at the moment and it always makes me feel happy and sing along. Perfect!

England V USA
After returning this week from my trip to New York (and the jetlag has really hit in the last 48 hours) I feel a little indifferent towards England's opening match against USA in The World Cup.

Sarah Loves... James Corden
He's funny right? I want to actually know him. Not in a stalkerish way I'm quick to say but how cool would it be to go to the pub with him? I'd be laughing a lot. He just is a funny guy.

Get Well Soon Rio
Gutted for Rio. Gutted for the team. Great loss for our World Cup hopes. But on the positive side I'm pleased that Michael Dawson has been called back up to the squad.

Capello's 23
So today was judgement day with regards to who made the final 23 in Fabio Capello's England squad for The World Cup. Seven players got the phone call to say they would not be part of the final 23 and could now go off on their Summer holidays and for some contemplate their future.

Chris Kamara misses Portsmouth sending off - PURE GENIUS!
It would be fair to say it was a terrible football day for me and Spurs boy yesterday. We spent the afternoon in a gorgeous little pub in Cornwall (another holiday I know) watching the football. We were talking with locals and at the time (United's match was over) and Spurs were 2-0 down so you can imagine the mood :-( But Chris Kamara on Sky Sports Soccer Saturday programme can never fail to make you laugh, and especially after this one. Pure genius!

Is it really the end for Jack Bauer?
It was announced at the weekend that the current season of 24 (Season/Day Eight) will be it's last. I wasn't really surprised by the news to be honest as I have found recent series to be a little predictable.

To Travel or not to Travel?
Why is it I've been spending the last few days daydreaming about going travelling? I don't also mean for a week holiday, I mean travelling abroad and experiencing the wonders of the world!

The Good The Bad and The Ugly of my week
The Good
I have scheduled this post for Sunday evening as I will be away this weekend to London with Spurs boy. This is actually our first trip away as a couple and we really cannot wait. He was away this week and the place seemed empty without him and it's good to have him back. Our trip to London is a little bit for Valentine's although we have agreed "NO PRESENTS" but I'm arranging Saturday and he will arrange what we do Sunday. We won't know until the day what we are doing. I can tell you now that on Saturday I have planned some shopping (only a little as he'll moan and my leg will hurt) and then a cocktail making class, then dinner and then off to see Invictus. No idea what he has planned for Sunday though, we both hate surprises!
As I have spent most of my week recovering from my hamstring injury, which turned out to be a Grade 2 tear, only had Grade 1 before :-( I have been very much enjoying comfort food. Not so much chocolate and crisps but jacket potato with cheese and beans, lasagne, pancakes etc Nom nom nom!
I got another follower to my blog - Welcome!
Bestie came to stay with me whilst Spurs boy was away and it was fab. It's her birthday on Monday, she'll be 25. We are having dinner with her, her family and friends in the evening and next weekend will be the big party! I still need to get an outfit and of course her present.
Regarding the hamstring injury as a certain Ryan Giggs used to have troublesome hamstrings a few years ago I'm now being referred to on twitter as "Twitter's Giggsy" which I like :-))
My Lakeland order arrived :-), the heated towel rail is fantastic, the Cupcake Cake Pan and Paella Pan will be used next week. The make up caddy has been placed on the dresser, haven't actually put anything into it yet as I need to have a good old clear out of all my make up. Another thing for my to do list this week
I'd been waiting and waiting for the new Sade album and as it's been 10 years since her last album it has been some wait. Soldier of Love
is fantastic from start to finish and it's really the only thing at the moment out of choice that I want to listen to. The title track is probably my favourite, check it out here.
My Airline Conquerer USA score is now 324! Whoop whoop!
Totally addicted to Rock Band both on The Wii and my iPhone. Still on medium though, guitaring is my choice of instrument. Spurs boy likes to drum!
As I have been working from home I have been more than sticking to my revision plan and I've actually done more than I had planned for which is very good!
Apparently I will like the new 2010 range of filofaxes as I had sent the Filofax twitter page my link to my recent blog and based on my choices they said I will like the new range! Very excited and apparently it's out from March! Cannot wait...but I will have to!
I saw this picture and it made me want a panda even more! Maybe not at all 16 though

The Bad
Ryan Giggs out injured (no not his hamstring, that's me!) for four weeks :-( So he'll miss the crucial Champions League match with AC Milan this coming week and The Carling Cup Final and a couple of Premier League games.
Facebook has changed again! I know soon enough we will all forget about what it looked like before the changes but honestly WTF happened? And... most crucially my news feed doesn't actually work and always shows things from a day ago. So that's a facebook fail :-(
The golf practice is going to have to wait till my leg is better, for now have been playing Tiger Woods (snigger) PGA Tour 10 on the wii. But I can play it sitting down so it's not really counting as practice is it?
Spurs boys work trip was not very successful and he will need to go out again. Boo! :-(
The Ugly

The Ugly
Definitely my hamstring! It is definitely better now but when it was swollen it was not so good. I swore...LOTS. I felt stupid having crutches but it was much easier with them and although I'm not using them much now it's nice to know they are still there in case I need them.
Football managers are said to love team selection problems and Mr Capello seems to be having a few with regards World Cup selection. Not just with the John Terry mess but now with Ashley Cole out for 3 months after suffering from a broken ankle. Please Mr Capello could you look towards James Milner or maybe even Leighton Baines as a suitable replacement for Cole. That said though; Milner and Baines you need to step it up a gear and prove you deserve your place too!

My Film Picks For 2010
Every year there always seems to be a lot of films to look forward to at the cinema and this year is no different. I have already seen Up in the Air and thought I'd go through the other films that I'm looking forward to.
Here's my Top Ten that I'm looking forward to
Peter Jackson's The Lovely Bones film adaptation of Alice Sebold's book of the same name
Jeff Bridges plays a country music singer who is down on his luck and he is helped by a journalist who finds out about the man behind the musician in Crazy Heart. Colin Farrell (swoon!) is in it too
Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland with Johnny Depp, Helena Bonham Carter and Anne Hathaway. This website is enough to get me excited about it!

Matt Damon (swoon!) and Paul Greengrass (Bourne Supremacy and Bourne Ultimatum re-team up for Green Zone.
Sex and the City 2 is out this year, and now we're 4 months into the future from where the first film ended. The usual cast, fashion and drama!
I loved the film Vanilla Sky and this sees Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz team up again in this action comedy film Knight and Day.
Toy Story 3. The toys are back in town.
Getting to the end of the Harry Potter series comes the first installment of the Deathly Harrows book (Excited? Very!)
My favourite book of the Narnia series comes to cinema screens later this year

Blog Action Day - Recycle!
Do you recycle?
When we first got our recycling bins I think we all did the said the same thing - "What a hassle" or "I'll never remember" but now it's like recycling is habit!
Now I probably spend more time looking at different packaging and bottles to see if it can be recycled!
If you recycle one aluminium can it saves enough energy to power a television for 3 hours! Pretty impressive huh?
Here's a list of things that can be recycled:
- plastic milk and water bottles
- household cleaning products bottles
- all glass packaging (bottles and jars)
- plastic food trays and wrappings are sometimes recyclable, so check the packaging for more details
- rinsed shampoo bottles, cardboard packaging and toilet roll tubes
- packaging from toiletries and make-up, and unwanted clothing
- washing powder and liquid containers
From February 2010 many shops and supermarkets that sell batteries will provide collection bins for old batteries as they can contain hazardous substances and should be got rid of safely, otherwise contact your local council as they should have either a collection scheme or a battery recycling bank.
We all have thrown away clothes in the bin, but next time think about charity shops or there are clothing banks at most supermarkets now these days. Or you could host a swap party (see more details later).
How many mobile phones have you had in the last 5 years? Did you know you can recycle old ones for cash? There are a number of websites now that offer this service; and why keep an old phone when you could use the money to treat yourself.
What do you do with used printer cartridges? Why not find your local place for refilling cartridges, you could save yourself 60% from refilling rather than buying a new one. Just think of the packaging you have saved!
My favourite way of recycling is to hold or go to a swap party! Everyone brings at least one item of clothing to swap, so instead of throwing it away someone else will get use out of it. Don't just limit it to clothes though, bags, shoes and jewellery are all good items to take. You can leave your old stuff behind and come away with a whole new outfit and - IT'S FREE!
So start recycling now!
