Bethany Joy Galeotti - Leaving Town Alive

Another song from Bethany, who plays Haley James Scott in One Tree Hill.

I wish this song had been around when I was growing up, I now realise it is ok to make mistakes. And I still make them. :-)

The journey is the destination

"Remember it's only in the black of night that you can see the stars and those stars will lead you back home. So don't be afraid to make mistakes, to stumble, to fall, because most of the time the greatest rewards come from doing things that scare you the most. Maybe... you'll get everything you wish for; maybe you'll get more than you ever could have imagined. Who knows where life will take you ? The road is long and in the end the journey is the destination"
Whitey Durham from One Tree Hill (Actor Barry Corbin)

One Tree Hill Quote - Someone will find you

"Sometimes it's easy to feel like you're the only on in the world who's struggling, who's frustrated, or unsatisfied, or barely getting by. But that feeling's a lie. And if you just hold on, just find the courage to face it all for another day and someone, or something, will find you and make it all okay. Because we all need a little help sometimes. Someone to help us hear the music in our world. To remind us that it won't always be this way. That someone is out there, and that someone will find you"
Lucas Scott (played by Chad Michael Murray) One Tree Hill

One Tree Hill is back... and it's all so different

Season 7 started last week on E4. Even though there is now no Lucas and Peyton :-( I still found myself totally gripped by it and wanting to watch the next episode.

One Tree Hill Quote - Regret

"Regret comes in all shapes and sizes. Some are small like when we do a bad thing for a good reason. Some are bigger like when you let down a friend.

Some of us escape the pain of regret by making the right choice. Some of us have little time for regret because we're looking forward to the future. Sometimes we have to fight to come to terms with the past, and sometimes we bury our regret by promising to change your own ways.

But, our biggest regrets are not for the things we did -- but, for the things we didn't do. Things we didn't say that could've save someone that we care about. Especially when we can see the dark storm that's headed their way."

- Lucas Scott, Chad Michael Murray

Feel this By Haley James Scott (Bethany Joy Galeotti)

One Tree Hill is still one of my favourite TV programmes and Season 7 will soon hit the UK, although I'm not sure I like the fact that Hilarie Burton (Peyton) and Chad Michael Murray (Lucas) have gone. I've been watching a bit of the old stuff on E4 recently, and for some reason I have even Sky+'d some even though I have them all on DVD. Weird.

Songs that seem to follow you

Do you ever have a song that seems to follow you over a period of days?

Whether it be on the radio, adverts, television or walking into shops and hearing songs on their in store radio, sometimes music and certainly some songs can follow you.

I first heard "Temptation" by Moby on Monday morning just as I had woken up. I put my spotify on random every morning (I can't stand listening to radio in the morning, too much chatter!) and Temptation came on. I probably haven't heard the song for years and I had forgotten how much I liked it and how beautiful it is.

I spent the rest of the day humming the song and deciding that I need to try and listen to more things on my spotify playlists that I haven't done for ages.

On Tuesday I was watching Vampire Diaries with Bestie when Temptation was featured near the end. It made me smile, mainly as I hadn't heard the song for years and now had heard it twice in two days.

Then on Wednesday I had put my spotify playlists on shuffle and had been sorting out my desk. I needed something from another room and when I came back, Temptation was playing.

Today I went out with Bestie to the charity I volunteer at for a visit and one of the guys said he'd been listening to Moby and had I been a fan. He said he would play his favourite to me, yes that's right, Temptation.

Now I'm waiting for the next time the song plays...silly really as if I don't hear it tomorrow I think I'll be disappointed.

You ever had a song follow you?

One Tree Hill Quote "Why won't you ever just let me all the way in?"

I thought today I'd watch a bit of One Tree Hill and I picked a random disc and a random episode and it was Nathan and Haley's wedding. Tear jerker bit is the scene with Lucas and Brooke and key quotes from this scene are:

Brooke Davis: "A kiss always means something"

Brooke Davis: "How about how you show it? I am not pushing you away, Lucas, I am holding on for dear life. But I need you to need me back, okay? Why didn't you tell me about the kiss? And why didn't you call me while you were away? And why won't you ever just let me all the way in?"

Lucas Scott: "Please don't be mad, Brooke".
Brooke Davis: "I'm not mad, Luke. I'm not mad".

*wipes tears*

One Tree Hill Quote (Finale of Season Six)

One of my favourite quotes

Mouth: Take a look at yourself in a mirror who do you see looking back?
Haley: Is it the person you want to be?
Dan: Or is there someone else you were meant to be the person you were meant to be but fell short of?
Mia: Is someone telling you you can't or won't? Because you can.
Chase: Believe that love is out there.
Nathan: Believe that dreams come true every day. Because they do.
Peyton: Sometimes happiness doesn't come from money or fame or power. Sometimes happiness comes from good friends and family and the quiet nobility of leading a good life.
Julian: Believe that dreams come true every day. Because they do.
Brooke: Believe that dreams come true every day. Because they do.
Peyton: So take a look in that mirror and remind yourself to be happy because you deserve to be. Believe that.
Lucas: And believe that dreams come true every day. Because they do.

The Good The Bad and The Ugly of my week

The Good

Obviously Spurs Boy is a major good point of the week! :-)
I have never felt so full of food and drink since...well probably last Christmas! Another bit of cake anyone?
I got another follower on my blog this week :) Again thank you all!
I thought the BBC did a fantastic job on Christmas Day for the Royle Family, Gavin & Stacey and then the Catherine Tate show; shown one after the other. Fantastic! I laughed so much!
I'm still however unprepared to see David Tennant leave Doctor Who but thought Hamlet was superb and recommend you all catch it on the BBC iplayer (not sure about his appearance on Catherine Tate though, was funny but a bit weird)
I have been sorting out new work opportunities and the New Year seems exciting and yet busy but this doesn't mean my blogging will stop - Oh no! I'll still be here!
My best friend and I did a silly girlie best friends quiz from an old magazine (old as in 2006'ish) and at the end it had a description of what kind of person you were. Both descriptions were very accurate; mine described me as; Quick witted,Wacky sense of humour, Impatient, Friend for Life, Secretly romantic. At first I did not think mine was accurate (as we all tend to do when someone says what we are like) but my friend quickly told me that it was indeed true and I was the same with her description given. I think they are good qualities, well maybe except the impatient part - but that's what make me, me!
Any Sex & The City fans reading this? Well look what I found this week - the trailer for the new movie
This week also saw the ending of a few of my favourite TV programmes - Spooks ended and it ended in a way that we still don't know what happened! Was anyone else left screaming to know if they had got out? Argh! One Tree Hill ended and this saw characters Lucas and Peyton driving off into the sunset with their daughter Sawyer so farewell as they are not in the next series. Gossip Girl also ended and cannot wait to see the next Series also. Has anyone read the Gossip Girl books? Any good?
The Hollyoaks flashback episode was as good as I had thought it would be!
I have got addicted AGAIN to The Settlers game on my iPhone.
My local football team has been saved from administration :-)
Manchester United winning again, although I was unimpressed by performance. MUST play better!
Did I mention Spurs Boy? ;-)
How long is my good list this week! Wow

The Bad

I didn't like it when the snow then melted :-(
Hangovers!?! Had a fuzzy head the past few mornings...
Hate January Sales... the adverts (although I like the Roy Orbison "You Got It" Dreams advert) and I hate messy sale shops...urgh...internet shopping for me until February!

The Ugly

I made a new database project for my work and for some reason it didn't save, had to re-do it all. Thus putting me in a foul mood and cursing everything in sight!

Pictures Of You - One Tree Hill quote

By Lucas Scott:

You ever look at a picture of yourself, and see a stranger in the background? It makes you wonder how many strangers have pictures of you? How many moments of other peoples life have we been in? Were we a part of someone's life when their dream came true or were we there when their dream died? Did we keep trying to get in? As if we were somehow destined to be there or did the shot take us by surprise? Just think, you could be a big part of someone elses life, and not even know it.

One Tree Hill Quote - Must all hearts be broken?

Voiceover by Lucas Scott

Albert Camus once wrote, "Blessed are the hearts that can bend. They shall never be broken." But I wonder.... If there's no breaking, then there's no healing. And if there's no healing, then there is no learning. And if there's no learning, then there's no struggle. But the struggle is a part of life, So must all hearts be broken ?

Halo - Bethany Joy Galeotti (Haley James Scott, One Tree Hill) A song from the show

I never promised you a ray of light,
I never promised there'd be sunshine everyday,
I give you everything I have, the good, the bad.
Why do you put me on a pedestal,
I'm so up high that I can't see the ground below,
So help me down you've got it wrong, I don't belong there.

One thing is clear,
I wear a halo,
I wear a halo when you look at me,
But standing from here, you wouldn't say so
you wouldn't say so, if you were me
And I, I just wanna love you,
Oh oh I, I just wanna love you

I always said that I would make mistakes,
I'm only human, and that's my saving grace,
I fall as hard as I try
So don't be blinded
See me as I really am, I have flaws and sometimes I even sin,
so pull me from that pedestal,
I don't belong there.

One thing is clear,
I wear a halo,
I wear a halo when you look at me,
But standing from here, you wouldn't say so
you wouldn't say so, if you were me
And I, I just wanna love you,
Oh oh I, I just wanna love you

Why you think that you know me
But In your eyes
I am something above you
It's only in your mind
Only in your mind
I wear a
I wear a
I wear a Halo

Quote from One Tree Hill "Stepping up"

Voiceover by Nathan Scott, played by James Lafferty.

"Stepping up. It's a simple concept. It basically means to rise above yourself; to do a little more, to show you something special. Something like this. Lucas is gone, but that doesn't mean the season is over. As a matter of fact, I say it's just beginning. You might want to stay out of my way for a while. Life's funny sometimes; it can push pretty hard like when you fall in love with someone but they forget to love you back, like when your best friend and your boyfriend leave you alone, like when you pull the trigger or light the flame and you can't take it back. Like I said, in sports they call this 'stepping up'. In life, I call it 'pushing back".'

"You know it's been said that we just don't recognize the significant moments of our lives while they're happening. We grow complacent with ideas, or things or people and we take them for granted and it's usually not until that thing is about to be taken away from you that you've realized how wrong you've been that you realized how much you need it, how much you love it. God, I love this game."

"You ever heard the expression 'The best things in live are free.' Well that expression is true.' Every once in a while, people step up they rise above themselves sometimes they surprise you and sometimes they fall short. Life is funny sometimes. It can push pretty hard but if you look close enough, you can find hope in the words of children, in the bars of the song and in the eyes of someone you love. And if you're lucky, if you're the luckiest person on this entire planet, the person you love decides to love you back."

Tuesday, 21 July 2009

Voiceover by new character Samantha Walker, her essay on how she felt about Quentin's death.

"Quentin Fields was a basketball player. He was also a son. A brother. Somebody's teammate. Somebody's friend. I never knew Quentin Fields and I guess now I never will.

Did you ever wonder what it would be like if you weren't you anymore? If you were suddenly gone how would your world react? Whatever you imagined was wrong. There's nothing romantic about death. Grief is like the ocean: it's deep and dark and bigger than all of us. And pain is like a thief in the night. Quiet. Persistent. Unfair. Diminished by time and faith and love.

I didn't know Quentin Fields but I'm jealous of him because I see how his absence has affected the people that did know him so I know that he did matter to them. And I know he was loved. People say Quentin Fields was a great basketball player. Graceful. Fluid. Inspiring. They say on a good night it almost seemed as though he could fly. And now he can
"

Also in Haley's class when she asks who wrote a "we will miss you" note on Quentin's desk she takes the marker pen away from the culprit and writes her own message;

"He who does not weep does not see"

From Les Miserables.

One Tree Hill last night

So One Tree Hill last night kept us waiting to see just who was the funeral for...Quentin. At the end you see young hopeful basketball player Quentin getting shot at a petrol station. Poor Jamie who has grown ever fond of his new role model, and had made Quentin a cape just like the one he has.

Lucas and Peyton return with their engagement news to find a badly bruised Brooke who does not tell them about the attack at her store and instead says that she fell down the stairs. Brooke turns to the only person she knows who can help her, Deb. Brooke is now unconfident and is out for revenge for what happened to her. It's not clear if the attack has anything to do with her mother as the designs that she was just about to put forward were stolen during the attack. Of course her mother wanted those designs and she's a mean piece of work and nothing is beyond what she would do to get them. Deb a little bit side tracked by Jamie having seen her kissing Skills earlier in the day, arrives at Brooke's request to meet her and is totally shocked by the state of Brooke. Deb is told everything but is asked to not tell anyone about what really happened. Brooke asks if she still has her gun, and asks if Deb will show her how to use it. Of course with all the trouble with Dan she knows about revenge and the need for protection.

Speaking of Dan, he is still being kept hostage but now Carrie knows he doesn't have long left and was on the list for a heart transplant (his beeper went just as he was hit by her car!) so her plan for setting him up as the kidnapper of Jamie is now not looking promising.

Nathan and Haley are told by the doctor that Nathan's back might hold out for a few years but he could put himself back into a wheelchair for the rest of his life if he overdoes it. Nathan tells Haley he wants to be a husband and father before playing basketball, but basketball is all Nathan knows? He can't give it up? Can he?

One Tree Hill is back......

So finally One Tree Hill came back and what a start!

Finally we know Lucas did call Peyton! But we all knew that right? Although there was this dream scene where Lucas celebrated a years anniversary with each of the choices; Brooke, Peyton and Lindsay. None of the dream scenes seemed bad and he seemed happy with each one so not really sure why he picked Peyton except that they always seemed destined to be together (such a geek!)

I was glad that they didn't have a quickie marriage in Las Vegas, just wait till everyone else knows they are engaged!

I had forgotten about Dan getting run over, I had suspected it was evil Carrie back again and driving the car. Now she has Dan imprisoned in her dad's old house and she wants his help to take Jamie.

At the end of the episode there was a shocking scene where Brooke is violently assaulted at her shop. Watching the preview for the next episode she seems ok but check out the bruises. Also there is a funeral scene; there were three people missing from the trailer-Mouth, Millicent and Quentin. Is it one of them?

One Tree Hill Quote "All you need is one"

Quote from TV Series One Tree Hill, Peyton Sawyer says

At this moment there are 6,470,818,671 people in the world. Some are running scared. Some are coming home. Some tell lies to make it through the day; others are just now facing the truth. Some are evil men at war with good, and some are good struggling with evil. Six billion people in the world, six billion souls. And sometimes...all you need is one.

The Week Ahead...

All I keep thinking about is that One Tree Hill is back tomorrow night (E4 at 9pm), so very excited! I have managed to avoid any of the spoilers for this series except that I obviously know that Chad Michael Murray (Lucas) and Hilarie Burton (Peyton) leave at the end of this series.

I will be making more cakes at some point this week, and definitely using the same icing recipe that I had used last week. I forgot about posting the recipe for the cakes I had made and will do that later this week too.

My book planning has slowed a little, I thought I was more than ready to start writing it but after much research I have realised I still have a little more planning to do. I've read its good to write a history for each of your characters, nothing too much but enough so you can start to really understand each of them better.

I cleaned out the fish tank again yesterday, Luke is definitely still the tank bully. He enjoys chasing the zebra danio's out of his way, I'm sure he thinks soon the others will leave and he will be left with his tank all to himself again. They got treats this week of bloodworms and brine shrimp, I read on the internet the worse it smells the better it is. This stuff I got must be the best as it really does smell out the place!

My lovely gerbera's that I have been growing, I only now have one left - some little or maybe a big bug ate the leaves on all the others. I have now safely placed the remaining plant on my room windowsill and it seems to be developing well. I knew that they were hard to grow and they really weren't kidding about that!

Also in the process of setting up another blog but this one is devoted to Brothers and Sisters (the TV programme). Will be a steady progress as I set it all up, at the moment it just has quotes on it but will soon have information on characters, seasons, the stars of the show and all the latest news.

The Ashes is on this week so this will take up most of my days towards the end of the week I will try to multi task!

On Friday it is the season finale of Dexter, the trailer for it looks good. Could Dexter be about to get a taste of his own making?

Write more soon

One Tree Hill Quote "Douglas Adams once wrote"

This time a quote from Nathan Scott from TV Series, One Tree Hill

"Douglas Adams once wrote: 'He felt that his whole life was some kind of dream, and he sometimes wondered whose it was, and whether they were enjoying it.'"
