World Down Syndrome Day


Today is World Down Syndrome Day and starts the National Down Syndrome Awareness Week. There is a global video event called "Let me in" which in partnership with 45 countries where they want to advocate for the rights, inclusion and well being of people with Downs Syndrome.




With high profile patrons Damon Hill (the 1996 Formula One Champion whose son Oliver has Downs Syndrome), Muttiah Muralitharan (Sri Lankan record breaking cricketer) and Liam Neeson (Oscar nominated actor) also helping raise awareness too. Even the Premier League got involved yesterday with a Down Syndrome Football Festival at Fulham FC's training ground.

This is all very close to my heart, my brother Jonathan has Downs Syndrome. He's a blessing in all our lives.
