Wear a butterfly tomorrow

Before you wonder the tattoo is not real but I admit I'm thinking about getting a real one still. Anyway the reason for the sudden butterfly tattoo is all for Rachel over at Mon Polkadot Cheri.

On the 4th November 2005 she was diagnosed with Systemic Lupus.

So what is Lupus?

Lupus affects your immune system from fighting off infections and actually attacks the heart, joints, skin, lungs, liver, kidney and nervous system. There is currently no cure for Lupus. For more information please see Lupusuk.org

People with Lupus often have a red rash across their nose and cheeks that resembles a butterfly, which is why the symbol for Lupus is a butterfly. So Rachel has written on her blog asking if we can support Lupus on the 4th November for her 5th anniversary with a theme of butterflies; I have got a temporary butterfly tattoo but there are so many other things you could do;
  • Draw a butterfly on your hand/face
  • Decorate your college book with butterflies
  • Wear a butterfly in your hair
  • Wear butterfly wings
  • Write a blog about the day
So tomorrow is butterfly day. Hope you join in and recognise the day!

I'm kinda liking my tattoo. :-)
