When is your productivity at its best?

My productivity levels are pretty low, in fact after a couple of weeks I have worked out that if I haven't organised myself by 9am the day is actually lost. Yep 9am. Some people aren't even up by then and I'm already done for the day.

I still meditate in the mornings and I always sit with my notebook and pen after and literally write down everything in my head. It's a mess and I have to organise the mess, it takes time but soon I'm sorted. Also I come up with ideas, like taking over the world or what superhero power I would most like to have. You know the important stuff ;-)

After 9am I'm in procrastination mode, I struggle with concentration and anything shiny takes my attention. That and the bag of haribo in my desk drawer.... I do pick up a bit after lunch for about an hour before I start clock watching. You can see this is a terrible work day right? Oopsies.

My productivity increases again at about 11pm as long as I'm not sleepy or already asleep. It's a good job that I can get my work done mostly in my windows of productivity. Otherwise I'd be in a bit of trouble with my boss...

When is your productivity at its best?

Oh IFTTT

I've been using IFTTT for a couple of months now and I wouldn't be able to manage my blogosphere life without it. The site is very simple and adopts the phrase "IF This Then That' so for example if you post a blog post and you want to send a tweet about it then you create a recipe for that task. There are nearly 50 channels including twitter, facebook, blogger, wordpress, evernote. You can create the 'This' part of the action for example;
  • I post a photo on instagram
So to end your recipe with the 'that' part you would need to action it;
  • Send photo to evernote.
This very recipe was how I came across IFTTT as Facebook buying instagram had me worried that I could at some point lose my photos and wanted them saved somewhere. I now use IFTTT to do several tasks and help me organise myself better. My only criticism is that you can only load one account to each IFTTT account. So if you run two twitter accounts for example, you would need two separate IFTTT accounts. Apparently they will change that in the future but it's one of my favourite time saving internet tools.

Love it!

January clean up!

It's January the time to start having a clear out or hibernate until the better weather comes along... well this is about decluttering. I don't know about you but my wardrobe can get a bit disorganised at times. So January is just the right time to get it back into action again, especially after you've hit the January sales and bought more clothes.

Old notebooks

I did a spot of tidying as I had lost an important book that I needed for work just had the urge to have a spring clean, or should that be summer clean ;-) Anyway, I found one of my old notebooks from last year. As you may have realised I am one for writing lists and as such people think I am very organised. Although friends know this isn't always the case as I can be quite scatty. Which I guess illustrates why I need the lists.
