Music Monday: The Courteeners - Not Nineteen Forever

If you know me you'll know why this is my choice this week.

I'm not really that sure that I am a Courteeners fan but somehow I have their music on my iTunes. This song has become the official song to accompany Manchester United winning the Premier League for this season and it's still April. It feels so good to have it all done and dusted early.

This title is their 20th and the song 'Not Nineteen Forever' is a great choice of tune ;-)

The Friday File #28 - Taylor Kinney

Somewhere along the way I have totally missed Taylor Kinney before. Until I started watching Chicago Fire and then the obsession started and I'd even watched the Vampire Diaries and missed him... HOW!?!

Anyway he plays Lieutenant Kelly Severide in Chicago Fire and he also is Lady Gaga's boyfriend...

NO FAIR!

Music Monday: Imagine Dragons - Radioactive

I don't jump on bandwagons much, especially music ones. When everyone started going on about Imagine Dragons I let it wash over me, I hadn't heard them and for now they were not on my radar. The song 'Radioactive' started to get played more in my earshot - adverts, trailers and it became unable to not know about them.

Then I listened to their album. It's not left my most played list in the last two weeks.

Slight obsession.

Music Monday: Razorlight - Somewhere Else

I love Razorlight. Absolutely love them.

With no sign of anything new coming from the band and the news that Johnny Borrell is concentrating on his solo career, it's time to go back into the back catalogue of Razorlight. It's never a hardship or chore, so many songs instantly cheer me up.

This one is perfect for a Monday morning.

The Friday File #27 - Zac Efron

Ignore his age. Ignore it.

Zac Efron has been the topic of many a teasing comment with my best friend, she has been obsessed with him for years. Yes, even the High School Musical years.... eeek!

I think I've always thought he was a bit cute but that's it. Then I saw The Lucky One and he's all grown up! The jury is still out I think but he has to go in my Friday File countdown because I say so!

Music Monday: Elephant by Tame Impala

Don't you just love Shazam? You hear a song and you don't know who has sung it so you click on the app and force your device near the speakers and wait for it to miraculously tell you. Of course most of the time the song ends so you have to wait to hear it another time or you forget that you are watching Sky+ so you can press rewind...

That's just a random example... :-)

It's time to get out!

With my promise to get out of retail when I was made redundant completely and utterly falling through as I mentioned in the first part of this story, I was now moving across to a bigger town.

A bigger town meant a MUCH bigger store. I was used to everything on one floor, now there would be THREE floors. The Music department was the largest, I had a measly 20 metres of total music before. Now just Rock n Pop was 22m. This was huge.

It was a lot of work and slowly others from the old store moved over. I almost cried seeing them, it wasn't going to be the same but it could still be pretty amazing here. It was a lot harder as I had to make sure we had the right stock in and that was a lot of work and it meant a real understanding of how music gets to a store. I could see that we couldn't buy some stock as we were not in credit with that record company/distributor. Cracks again started to show.

Music Monday: PJ & Duncan - Let's Get Ready to Rhumble

Obviously this was going to be my Music Monday choice!

PJ and Duncan (Ant and Dec)are back in the charts after fan power got them to No1 after they performed on their Saturday Night Takeway programme last weekend. I for one, was beyond excited to see them do it again. I was singing along and they can still do the moves! They performed after some of the acts from the Big Reunion had also done their songs, so the video is the entire set :-)
