Happy Birthday Ryan Giggs

Ryan Giggs is 36 today and yesterday he scored his 100th Premier League goal for Manchester United! He is showing no signs of slowing down or stopping and he is just an absolute legend both on and off the pitch.

He has said 'when' he hangs up his football boots he would like to do more work for UNICEF, he is already an ambassador for them (see the video below) from last month's news.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY RYAN!

I'm sure it won't be too long before it's Sir Ryan Giggs ;-)

P.S. Well done to Rooney on a fab month - he's become a Dad, captained Manchester United and England, and also bagged a hatrick of goals against Portsmouth! What a month!

Settlers Game has come to the iPhone

You may have head me mention that I like to play the Settlers PC Game and it's now available on the iPhone and iPod Touch. I only downloaded it the other day and so far so good. If you've played it before then you know what it's all about and what to do. For those that haven't there are all the tutorials you need to be able to play!

Just as I'd stopped playing the PC Game for a while I've now got it on my phone!

Powderfinger - Burn your name

I got my 'Golden Rule' album last week, it's always difficult to get Powderfinger's music over here as they are from Australia and the import charges are pretty high but I managed to get one and it's really good. My favourite album is still Odyssey Number Fivethough.

Powderfinger went straight to Number One in the ARIA (Australian Record Industry Association) Album Chart.

'Burn you name' will be the second single taken from the album after 'All of the dreamers' that came out last month.

No news on a UK tour yet but hopefully they'll announce that soon. Cannot wait!

Sarah Loves... Button Flowers

Another look around on Etsy this week and I came across this novelty way of never needing to buy flowers to decorate your house again and of course having to throw them away.

Then I found these plastic flower creations by stellaraesdesigns.

In the item description it says
I just love making these! The combinations are endless!

You will receive 12 almost random stems. I say almost because I will make sure to include at least 3 "unique" flowers. Unique in the sense that they have a texture, shape or design unlike a typical button.

The stems range in size from 8-12" and these are all made with green florist wire.
They will also set up a separate listing if you contact them about certain colours etc that you would like. These are on my list of must-haves for the New Year or maybe even before...

Pictures Of You - One Tree Hill quote

By Lucas Scott:

You ever look at a picture of yourself, and see a stranger in the background? It makes you wonder how many strangers have pictures of you? How many moments of other peoples life have we been in? Were we a part of someone's life when their dream came true or were we there when their dream died? Did we keep trying to get in? As if we were somehow destined to be there or did the shot take us by surprise? Just think, you could be a big part of someone elses life, and not even know it.

Nine Words/Phrases Women Use...and Guys Should Know

(1) "Fine": This is the word women use to end an argument when they are right and you need to shut up.

(2) "Five Minutes": If she is getting dressed, this means one-half hour. Five minutes is only five minutes if you have just been given five more minutes to watch the game before helping around the house.

(3) "Nothing": This is the calm before the storm. This means something, and you should be on your toes. Arguments that begin with nothing usually end in fine.

(4) "Go Ahead": This is a dare, not permission. Don't Do It!

(5) "Loud Sigh": This is actually a word, but is a non-verbal statement often misunderstood by men. A loud sigh means she thinks you are an idiot and wonders why she is wasting her time standing here and arguing with you about nothing. (Refer back to # 3 for the meaning of nothing.)

(6) "That's Okay": This is one of the most dangerous statements a woman can make to a man. That's okay means she wants to think long and hard before deciding how and when you will pay for your mistake.

(7) "Thanks": A woman is thanking you, do not question, or faint.. Just say you're welcome. (This is true, unless she says 'Thanks a lot' - which is PURE sarcasm and she is not thanking you at all. DO NOT say 'you're welcome' -- that will bring on a 'whatever'.)

(8) "Whatever": Is a woman's way of saying F-- YOU!

(9) "Don't worry about it, I've got it": Another dangerous statement , meaning this is something that a woman has told a man to do several times, but is now doing it herself. This will later result in a man asking, 'What's wrong?' For the woman's response, refer to # 3.

Sarah Loves... Scrabble Tile Pendants

I have decided to do a weekly blog about my weekly find as I browse the internet and this will be called Sarah Loves...

So this week whilst searching on Etsy I found scrabble tile pendants, yes that's right they are made using a recycled scrabble game tile and then fixed onto a chain. There are so many of these available to buy on Etsy and in other places and it seems to be quite easy to actually make your own. You can buy your own scrabble making kit to get you started.

The best seller I found was peachypendants and here are some of their designs

All of the items (including the scrabble making kit are available from peachypendants

Has anyone bought similar or do you make your own?

Can I be Callen's partner please?

Can I please be his partner?

Chris O'Donnell plays Special Agent Callen in the spin off programme of NCIS called NCIS: Los Angeles. When I say partner I mean be his colleague of course, why what else would I mean (although I wouldn't say no - LOL)

I know there is a lot of danger; every episode they seemed to get shot at and I'm sure with the right protective gear that I would be fine. But they get to solve all these crimes with a super douper cool large computer screen (see it in action in the video below at about 0.59) and I would like to add this it to my Christmas list if I cannot join the NCIS team :(

Not only that but you get to drive a New Dodge Challenger - WOW!

Anyone know of what qualifications I need? And who I contact?

November seems a good time to write a Novel

I wrote a blog post back in September about my failings of being able to write a book and perhaps writing a screenplay. Well since then it has moved on quite a bit but maybe not as originally planned.

I had planned out the story in full that I'd been thinking about for a few years now and found the actual starting to write a book quite daunting. I had started to write it as a screenplay but found it didn't seem easy either, and then for a few weeks did nothing with it. Probably waiting for a day in the future when I would find my notebook with all the planning in it and try and start again. But then I came across this website which every November runs a competition called National Novel Writing Month.

Every November 1st participants start writing with the goal of a 175 page (50,000 word) novel by midnight on November 30th. In 2008 they had over 120,000 participants and more than 20,000 of them made the deadline. So I've entered!

Now I'd said I found it difficult to start to write my story down as a book, well not now. As soon as I opened my Word document to start writing, I just started and it seems to be going well so far. I've got an amount of words to do a day but I try where possible to go over this amount as much as I can. Maybe it's because there is a deadline that it seems easier to write or maybe it was just time to get it all down - Who knows?!?

So anyway this story that I had all planned out, and I mean all planned out eg, characters, what happens in each chapter, has changed. Only a few of the things that I had planned are still relevant now as I continue writing a few days later. Strange really...maybe planning wasn't a good idea and then maybe it was? As I type it seems the story is pulling me into a new direction which is exciting as I have no idea where it's going. Maybe this is a good thing? We'll soon see.

I'm not saying that I'm writing a masterpiece, far from it. It'll probably not be very good but at least on November 30th I'll be able to say that I have written a novel and I will feel super proud of myself!

Is anyone else doing the competition? Or anyone else writing a book at the moment?

Happy 40th Anniversary to Sesame Street

Happy Birthday to Sesame Street, so many wonderful memories.

My all-time favourite character is Elmo, I think we may have the same IQ level! This video is my favourite scene with Elmo and Andrea Bocelli, so cute!

Not long now...
